Families Choice Home Care is proud to partner with the VA Homemaker and Home Health Aide Care Program to support Veterans in maintaining their independence and quality of life. A trained Homemaker or Home Health Aide can visit a Veteran’s home to assist with daily activities and personal care needs through this program.
What is Homemaker Home Health Aide Care?
This program is designed to assist Veterans who require skilled care, case management, or support with daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation. It also provides essential aid for Veterans experiencing social isolation or whose caregivers face challenges. Homemaker and Home Health Aide services can complement other Home and Community Services, offering a flexible and tailored approach to meet individual needs.
Veterans can request a specific agency to provide caregiver services, and Families Choice Home Care proudly participates in this program.
Homemaker and Home Health Aide Care Services
Services are tailored to meet your specific needs as determined through an assessment. To explore the support available to you, connect with a VA social worker. Depending on your situation, an aide might visit your home multiple times a week or assist occasionally as needed.
Examples of daily activities you may be able to receive help with the following:
- Preparing food and eating
- Getting dressed
- Personal grooming
- Bathing
- Using the bathroom
- Moving from one place to another
- Traveling to appointments
Eligibility Requirements
All enrolled Veterans may qualify for Homemaker and Home Health Aide Care if they meet the eligibility requirements for community care, fulfill the clinical criteria for the service, and if the service is offered in their area. Families Choice Home Care provides caregiver services in Upland, California, and the surrounding areas.
Depending on your VA service-connected disability status, a copayment for these services may apply.
